I had toyed with the idea a while ago of looking into social work as I teach on a Friday and in the long term I wanted to help people.
However, I have found that I can help people greatly in my job. A few people in particular have really helped me find reason in my work. Mac Makeup isnt only open to a few people it is open to everyone. The power makeup can give people, every gender, every race every body is immense. I have had a number of people sit down with me who have came to MAC for help, have came to MAC for confidence and who are going through such rough times in their life that a little bit of feel good can bring a ray of sunshine into their life.
I know how much the power of appearance can pull you through the day. When I was incredibly ill on oxygen and when mornings were so unbearable to even get out of bed I would always go to extra effort to make myself look good. My old housemate and very good friend Sara would always know if it was a particularly hard day as I would look a million dollars.
I would come down our stairs makeup on fully and hair preened to an inch of it's life and she would look at me and say " Your feeling mighty shit today aren't you?"
So I truly know that Makeup can make such a difference.
Another amazing thing Mac has given me is the people, I have made a number of friends there who I have had some amazing times with.
Lastly Mac makes me try harder, I can awake in the morning and feel terrible but onc eI get into work I am in auto pilot.
So here's to longer in MAC
Kiss Kiss
